I like quite a few but I love Seinfeld. - I have every DVD from 1 through season 7, which I think was the last release.

Probably my favourite comedy ever, that or Curb your enthusiam. American comedy is a better than ours, imo anyway, I watch a lot of their stuff.....

Mine too Dean and 'Curb your enthusiam' is clever, though I haven't seen as much of it. So well written American stuff, fast moving, packed with irony, observation and straightforward jokes, I see more and more in it with the re-watching, it's quality and I love it

Re: For our American friends.
The best TV show ever made came from America, Baltimore to be precise. A hard hitting, edgy, realistic tale of the drugs trade and gangs in Baltimore, and the police efforts to stop it. The show was called "The Wire" (recently replayed on BBC2) and was brilliant, had me cpativated from the first show, all the way through the 6 series.
TV at its best

I'll take a look at 'The Wire' I've never heard of it, sounds good. My mum likes "Quincy" repeated often and yes, the Rockford Files, had huge appeal, good writing and the charisma of James Garner.

I've seen all the episodes and specials more times than I can remember. Often I'll forget the actual detail of the investigation and solving of the 'who done it' I can't wait for Det Columbo to put his finger up and say, "Oh just one more thing" Fantastic show

The Wire is very adult themed, if you're offended by swearing and vioilence, you may not like it. The acting and writing is second to none though, you dont have to be into gangs/drugs/violenece to enjoy the show...

Despite never seeing large commercial success or winning any major television awards,[2] The Wire has frequently been described by critics as the greatest television series of all time.[3][4][5][6][7][8] The show is recognized for its realistic portrayal of urban life, artistic ambitions, and uncommonly deep exploration of sociopolitical themes.
