Bottled Water. Empty Bottled Water.

Post by Snookerballs Sun Sep 27, 2009 7:11 pm

A small town called Bundoon, New South Wales, Australia, has become the first in the World to ban the sale of Bottled Water. Shops can only stock refillable bottles, which can be filled FREE from public drinking fountains.
Spokesman said " Bottled water is a CON placed on Aussies by the bottled water industry"

Who says the Aussies are drongos, you dont become the raw prawn with an Aussie. !!!!!!!! Shocked :wavingsmily:

I like the idea, a small town would be the place to see if this could work at a higher level.

I have always been amazed at the title of "Evian" Water, I`m sure the Company is taking the wee-wee out of its customers, read it backwards it says NAIVE. Also the other company that USED to have an advert on Telly, "Our water has been filtered down through volcanic rock and filtered for millions of years" It has a best by/sell by date stamped on the bottle. scratch
The Aussies have got it "home and hosed" Laughing

I hate the smell of mens after shaves. They give me a headache.
Fresh soap and water everytime. A bit of FRESH sweat is acceptable. The emphasis being on the word...Fresh. Bottled Water. Icon_wink

I've never understood this craze for bottled water or even endless bottles and cans of pop ...what made everyone so thirsty?

You must know about food additives including:

Acids:
Food acids are added to make flavors "sharper", and also act as preservatives and antioxidants. Common food acids include vinegar, citric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, fumaric acid, lactic acid.
Acidity regulators:
Acidity regulators are used to change or otherwise control the acidity and alkalinity of foods.

Food colouring
Colourings are added to food to replace colours lost during preparation, or to make food look more attractive.

Flavours
Flavours are additives that give food a particular taste or smell, and may be derived from natural ingredients or created artificially.
Flavour enhancers
Flavour enhancers enhance a food's existing flavours. They may be extracted from natural sources (through distillation, solvent extraction, maceration, among other methods) or created artificially.

Stabilizers
Stabilizers, thickeners and gelling agents, like agar or pectin (used in jam for example) give foods a firmer texture. While they are not true emulsifiers, they help to stabilize emulsions.
Sweeteners
Sweeteners are added to foods for flavouring. Sweeteners other than sugar are added to keep the food energy (calories) low, or because they have beneficial effects for diabetes mellitus and tooth decay and diarrohea.

Maybe the reason I never got the great western thirst then is cos I'm fortunate enough not to have to eat a lot of industrial food.

I drink bottled natural mineral water, both still and sparkling. It tastes nicer than tap but otherwise I wouldn't bother. Smile
