I popped into the local newsagents today to get a paper and saw one of the other papers had a free DVD of "Abigail`s Party", so impulse buying took over, I bought a copy to watch it.
A great play, cringeingley embarrassing, so 1970`s, but as true today as it was then, a Classic !!! Embarassed

I remember seeing that on tv. Alison Steadman starred as the really obnoxious woman. It was hilarious.....did,nt she keep saying, "peanut Ange" to her timid neighbour??

I wish they would reshow it on the BBC..

Impeccable in every way Abigails Party, funny comedy of manners, well acted and very much grounded in it's era, suburbia in the 70's; - A horribly distressing finale.
I like it very much and see something new in it on each viewing Very Happy
