For dunking or otherwise?
Ginger nuts, jaffa cakes, hobnobs, custard creams, chocolate digestives,
coconut rings, coconut cookies, etc, etc..?

Does anyone know of any local favourites not found anywhere else in the british isles? What about when you were growing up? In distant years gone by there were such brands as gypsy creams, lemon puffs, iced gems, mixmax, oreo,.. my mum said.......

yes, the mcvities range of biccies is a timeless classic! i also like the fox's range..........................................

.............................but my very best, by a country mile is - cue drumroll: shortbread!!!!!!!!!!!!
must be the real mcoy, mind, made in edinbro', with genuine ingredients (always include some rice-flour in the recipe). i like it not too sweet, very chunky, if it's thin and brittle, it might as well be any ordinary ol' biscuit.

me, i do not like any biscuit with fillings - always nasty, overprocessed stuff with numerous additives!! it's shortbread for me!! i must have a chunky piece of shortbread, with a cup of tea (preferably earl grey) everyday of my life. one of life's pleasant little rituals. cheers
