Which is the most annoying advert?
It's getting near commercial-fest, sorry I meant Christmastime and more and more adverts will be swamping the box. I already hate the new Tesco advert (even though I usually like supermarket ones, especially M&S ones) starring multi-millionaress Barbara Windsor pretending to be just 'the ordinary man/woman in the street'.
1. Esure "Calm down dear" is one of the perrenial turkeys! gggrrrrrrrr! .
2. Meerkats and 3. Moonpig are annoying too.

The Go compare commercial is irritating, it's on too often. They should 'Go compare' with TV channels where you are not interrupted 3 minutes into a film.
It will get to the stage where TV programmes are just a side-show...

Don't like tv much and hate adverts.
If I watch the news it has to be the beeb ...advert free.
You can't take the news seriously when twelve jolly bunnies come bouncing on singing about fucking toilet rolls every ten minutes...as George Carlin once said.

On the channels I watch they keep having adverts for "cash for gold". These ads go on and on, and they're on in every break. It's getting to the stage where I have to leave the room when it's on.

Aye, I could do. I used to use that when Keith Chegwin was on GMTV.
I don't like any adverts really, especially Christmas one. I don't need to be reminded of it!

Me too.
If I want to watch a decent programme on TV and it's on an advert side I record it and then skip through the adds when watching it the following night.
As for muting, there are some adverts that make me cringe so I have to mute them..
One is the overweight man who is dressed up like a pox doctor's clerk, with the black curly moustache who pops out of a car and starts singing opera, and then finishes up suspended in mid air.
What is the point of a lunatic advert like that? After watching such an advert once, I would blatantly refuse to buy the product associated with it.
If there is an award for the best and the funniest advert on TV, it must go to the Meerkat one...There's a family living in my street who talk just just like them, they're
Romanian immigrants.

You're getting confused Fen, I said I can't stand the opera singer with the curled moustache bursting out into song.
Specsavers for you in the morning my dear. Go back and read my post again.

Re: Which is the most annoying advert?
The award for the most boring fucking advert on TV must surely go to the Coronation Street Harvey's furniture advert.

It's you who's confused. The opera singer is in the Go Compare advert. When I said I didn't like that advert either, you said you loved it.

Yes, but that's not the Go Compare one - Meerkats is comparethemarket.com.

I meant I loved the comparethemarket.com. advert. I don't know what the Go Compare advert is all about...can't recall watching it. I said in my original post that I loved the Meerkat one..Is there more than one Meerkat advert then?
When you mentioned the Go Compare one I thought that you were referring to the Meerkat one, that's why I said I loved that advert.

You have watched the Go Compare advert - it's the one with the opera singer which you don't like.

There's another one in a cafe. That chap at the end should get a free coffee as the fat chap made him spill it.

Re: Which is the most annoying advert?
I don't like the BT adverts with that chap from the sitcom My Family. The woman is clearly just looking for some poor bloke to pay her bills.
He tries his best with her kids and they just scowl at him, she nags him about arranging a holiday, moans when he gets the job of his dreams, bosses him about and tells him to go and look at new houses, and all the time she just sits there like a lemon smirking and simpering.

I'd have poured my coffee all over the fat git if I'd have been there.
There's a method in the madness of these buggy adverts. The producers know that people will talk about them and spread the word unwittingly. Just like we have been advertising them on this thread.
Clever stuff!
